THE MÂCONNAIS

Mâcon, the fifth largest city in Burgundy, awaits just 20 minutes from Moulin de la Brevette (Exit 28 of the A6 motorway). Known for its viticulture, the region boasts fine wines spanning from Tournus to Beaujolais. Explore:

Wine-growing is one of the region’s main economic activities, and the town is renowned for its fine wines. Its vineyards stretch from Tournus to the gateway to the Beaujolais region. It is the southernmost and largest of the Burgundy vineyards, with some six thousand five hundred hectares of vines.

Take the time to visit :

– the Forest Farm Museum;

Heading north

Beaune, the ‘Capital of Wines’ and its surrounding area, lies at the heart of a prestigious vineyard whose evocative names – Pommard, Corton-Charlemagne and La Romanée-Conti – will appeal to lovers of fine wines.

Beaune is also a town of art, and its most emblematic monument is certainly the Hôtel Dieu (Hospices de Beaune) with its famous glazed tile roof.
