To find out about the history of our estate
we need to go back a little further…
The Moulin de la Brevette was built in 1827 on the edge of a meadow in the commune of Arbigny, a site listed for its wildlife and protected by the Natura 2000 directive.
At that time, the Mill and its farm had two functions: one of its millstones was used to make flour for bread, while the other crushed the grain roughly to feed the animals.
This former building was entirely converted into a hotel shortly before the 1990s. It was not until 1ᵉʳ July 2011 that the current owners, Violette and Philippe, realised what they had fallen in love with.
They then took over the hotel business and gave the establishment a new lease of life as soon as they arrived. A great deal of work has been undertaken to date.
In 2020, a major event awaits us: the arrival of Covid 19.
We decided to turn the negative into a positive. Trying to put the stress of this situation to one side, we took advantage of this long period of inactivity to reflect and find out how we could reinvent ourselves to save our hotel.
New extension works were then planned.
These projects have been approved and work has begun to unveil the new facilities in 2022:
– A larger, secure and closed car park,
– An outdoor swimming pool,
– A children’s play area,
– A dedicated room for evening meals, company seminars or family gatherings.
A new reception has also been fitted out to welcome you in a more spacious area. Philippe and Violette have surrounded themselves with a team to support them in this new adventure.
At the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024, the rooms will again be renovated, and to meet the demands of our guests, the installation of air conditioning in the rooms will be completed by the summer of 2024. For the future of the hotel, Violette and Philippe are still planning new projects.
We would also like to renovate our breakfast room and find a more autonomous and less energy-intensive source of energy to meet the hotel’s needs.
